Our Story and Philosophy

Our story begins with the spark of interest in specialty coffee in Melbourne Australia, arguably the world best specialty coffee culture location. Our head roaster worked his way from beginner barista to head barista at some of the most trending specialty coffee shops in Melbourne. Through growing knowledge and skill, and a true admiration and passion for the wonders that are the coffee bean, blossomed. The desire to understand what makes this fruit into such a wonderful drink that brings people together all over the world began.

Upon leaving Australia the passion continued continued to grow always having a second job as a barista, but this is when the realisation set in that quality specialty coffee wasn't so easy to find outside of Melbourne!

Our roasting journey began as a way to supply ourselves with great tasting coffee at home. With a lot of research into the science behind coffee roasting, and the purchasing of all different types of prosumer coffee roasters the trial and error of transforming raw coffee into it's final product this began. Through learning more about coffee chemistry, origin and flavor, the passion for coffee grew exponentially and the coffee we started to produce became better and better.

This lead to the idea of opening our very own roastery and bringing quality Melbourne inspired coffee to the UK for businesses and home enjoyment. In the interest of respecting our planet, the home of the coffee plant, we made the decision to do all this as eco friendly as we could and are make every effort along the way to be as green and eco friendly as possible and improving this through every stage of our growth and hoping we can make a difference in the coffee industry and encourage other roasteries to switch to using more sustainable electric powered roasters and showing that the quality of coffee you can produce from such machines is on par of that of a tradition gas roaster.

We are one of the very few fully electric coffee roasteries in the UK and use green renewable electricity. We also carry out local deliveries in our electric van. We offer reusable packaging options for local businesses and are rotating stock to kraft paper bags for our delivered coffees. Making the switch from gas to electric roasters is a journey and a movement that we would love to become more of a standard in the industry which primarily runs on fossil fuels, such as gas which are said to account for 15% of the carbon emissions in the production of coffee, and this happens right on our front doorstep. In our continued journey we would love to grow more to be able to further offset some of the remaining carbon emissions in coffees process from farm to cup.

We take upmost pride in all of our coffee and are always trying to improve and grow. We aim to be both a stepping stone into specialty coffee and also a one stop shop for the coffee connoisseur. We very much value all of our customers support and custom and supporting us in the incredible journey.
